There has been strong criticism from the medical community of the risk of chelation therapy for children with Autism, and a minority group of doctors who believe that chelation is beneficial. Two small studies were published recently supporting DMSA as being safe and possibly effective in mitigating effects of autism. The study was funded by the Autism Research Institute, who are clearly predisposed to believe in chelation, but nonetheless, it is a start at proving their position.
